Maths Hub Teacher SKE KS1 and KS2

Maths Hubs Network Collaborative Projects 2019/2020

Specialist Knowledge for Teaching mathematics programmes

A series of six 3-hour sessions for KS1 and KS2 teachers

What will these sessions provide?

These sessions will focus on improving primary teachers’ mathematical subject knowledge to enable them to develop a deeper, more connected understanding of the three key strands within the primary maths curriculum.

This development will enhance their ability to teach and support pupils effectively, through enhanced pedagogical knowledge.

This programme will develop mathematical subject knowledge in conjunction with understanding the pedagogy that underpins the teaching of maths.  Understanding of mathematical structures will be explored so participants gain a detailed understanding of how children learn mathematical concepts.
