Motivation to Lead (RQT Project for future middle leaders)

This ‘Motivation to Lead’ Recently Qualified Teacher programme is for teachers in their 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of teaching who have a passion to lead and wish to be in a middle leadership position in the next 12-18 months. 

Explore the skills and competencies needed to become an outstanding middle leader and have the opportunities to trial and test those skills in a real school context to improve outcomes for young people.


The programme includes

  • developing skills in leadership and management
  • internal review
  • data analysis
  • team building
  • communication skills
  • understanding self and others including 360 analysis
  • managing challenging situations
  • developing challenge partnerships
  • coaching and giving feedback to others



This programme runs from January - June 2018 and consists of 3 whole day face to face sessions and 1 half day

all delivered at Harrison Primary School with an opportunity for school visits as well as 360 feedback. Delegates

will be part of a triad and will visit other triad schools during the programme.
