Maths Workshops Primary (Years 1 & 2)

Maths Workshops - Year 1 & 2 primary teachers

Join our series of primary collaborative working party meetings

From tiny acorns to mighty oaks

How to make the most of every maths problem

These meetings will primarily focus on calculation progression and the understanding of place value. They are designed to support identification of starting points in maths and planning from where the child is currently working, to ensure progress

We warmly welcome a diverse group of Year 1 & 2 teachers:

If you are new to teaching year 1 or 2, join us to build your confidence in assessing, planning and teaching maths. If you have years of successful teaching experience through KS1, come and share your experience and gain some alternative approaches.

Join us to work collaboratively to:

  • Plan a series of lessons to include a balance of problem solving, reasoning and fluency using concrete, pictorial and abstract concepts and resources
  • Create practical solutions to instantly apply to your teaching to promote secure foundations in maths to ensure mathematical success
  • Explore how to use mathematically-rich problems as starting points
  • Share successful ideas, models, practice with other teachers

All sessions will run 1:30pm- 4:30pm
