Facilitation Matters

Facilitation Matters

This 2-day programme takes place on:

Wednesday 22nd March  and Thursday 29th June 2017

9am - 4pm at Harrison Primary School

Headteachers, senior and middle leaders who are regularly involved in devising and running staff meetings and INSET days to develop the quality of teaching and learning in their school.

The 2 days focus on using facilitation to enhance teaching and learning in your school.  In many schools more time and effort is put

into getting the learning right for the children and less time thinking about how to provide high quality and personalised adult learning.

Many staff meetings and INSET days are ‘one size fits all’ and rely heavily on a training approach. Facilitation is a more effective strategy that utilises expertise and existing knowledge to provide a meaningful and personalised approach to teacher learning.  Research indicates that facilitation has a much more profound impact on the quality of teaching and learning in a school.

During this 2 day programme participants will:

  • Practise and develop a wide repertoire of facilitation skills and techniques
  • Examine research and theory of adult learning to positively influence practice
  • Develop a personalised toolkit for high quality facilitation leading to motivated staff
  • Devise materials to improve pupil learning through staff learning
  • Explore the features of effective questioning
  • Learn how to develop rapport with a range of staff to secure high levels of engagement

£120 per delegate includes lunch and refreshments.  Places are limited.
